The Municipality of Panay is the heritage capital of the Province of Capiz. And it was the former capital of the whole province during the Spanish period. It's three centuries old Sta. Monica Church stands as the cradle of Christian faith in the whole Panay Island.
The Municipality is home to the largest bell in Asia, located on the belfry of Sta. Monica Church. The whole town is distinctly known for its delicious sea foods.
